The Scranton Public Library in Scranton, PA is hosting an event called "Beyond Classmates" on Wednesday, August 14 at 6:00 PM at the Albright Memorial Library. The event will focus on how old school yearbooks can be used as important historical resources. Yearbooks can help in researching the culture of a hometown, tracing genealogy, and gaining insight into the past to understand the present. The Reference Department will provide information on how to utilize yearbooks as historical documents. Additionally, the library is accepting donations of gently-used local yearbooks to expand their Local History collection.
