Scranton, PA - This morning, Scranton Fire Department (SFD) had an unusual situation as a Lieutenant took on the role of acting Assistant Chief. Acting Assistant Chief Boock responded to his first call in this capacity, facing several challenges along with the B-shift firefighters.

As the morning unfolded, the fire department had to adjust their plans due to an ongoing police issue. Despite these challenges, A/C Boock and the team successfully managed operations and extinguished the fire.

When the situation escalated to a second alarm, Acting Deputy Chief White arrived to assist with the department's operations both on-site and from a distance. Additionally, off-duty firefighters came in to help staff reserve apparatus, ensuring that Scranton residents would have access to emergency services.

The Scranton Police Department provided support to maintain the safety of the fire department personnel during the incident. Photos of the event were captured by Chris Dolan.
