West Scranton High School in Scranton, Pennsylvania is encouraging students to participate in the Tour de Scranton bike ride happening this Sunday, on September 15. Interested students can obtain more information from Mr. Dustman in room 212. The event is set to benefit The Erin Jessica Moreken Drug & Alcohol Treatment Fund, established in 2002 to help young individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. Erin Jessica Moreken, a local resident and graduate of Scranton High School who attended Temple University, tragically passed away at the age of twenty-eight due to a drug overdose. The Tour de Scranton event is held in her memory to support individuals in overcoming their addictions through treatment. Participants can raise funds for this cause by getting sponsors for a river walk or bike ride. The Route 2 bike ride will cover approximately 15 miles from Scranton High School to Valley View Elementary and back.
